Cryothermic Systems (f.k.a Life Core Technologies) was founded in 2008 and is located in Cleveland, Ohio.

Cryothermic Systems is a medical device company that has developed a novel approach to cooling the body using the Cryothermic Cooling System.

Medical Director/Founder
Aqeel Sandhu, M.D., F.A.C.S. is a Harvard-trained Cardiothoracic Surgeon whose post doctoral training included the honor of serving as Professor Sir Magdi Yacoub’s Senior Registrar at the Royal Brompton Hospital, London, UK. After serving at the Royal Brompton Hospital, the leading Cardiovascular surgical program in Europe, he joined the department of Thoracic and Cardiovascular Surgery at the Cleveland Clinic Foundation. Dr. Sandhu is board certified in both surgery and thoracic surgery and is a Fellow of the American College of Surgeons. He currently directs Cardiothoracic Surgery at Mercy Medical Center, a top rated heart hospital in Canton, Ohio.
President/CEO

Mike Bunker joined Cryothermic Systems in December 2014 as CEO and President. He has 15 years in the medical device field serving most recently in venture capital for Arboretum Ventures and Early Stage Partners. Mike has led investments and held board seats in many portfolio companies during his venture capital experience since 2008. Prior to his venture experience, Mike led strategic acquisitions and business development at C.R. Bard. He began his Medtech career at Medtronic in Cardiac Rhythm Management before joining the corporate development group responsible for acquisitions, divestitures and licensing. Mike earned a BS in Marketing from Miami University in Ohio and an MBA from J.L. Kellogg Graduate School at Northwestern University in Illinois.

Chief Operating Officer
Michael J. O’Neil joined Cryothermic Systems in December 2014 as the Chief Operating Officer and Treasurer. Along with Mike Bunker, he is also a co-founder and partner at Slant Walk Partners, Ltd. In addition to his operational experience, Mike has over 10 years of experience investing in private companies, including acquisition searches, due diligence, negotiations and oversight. Prior to his private equity experience, Mike was an attorney with the law firms of Brouse & McDowell and Scanlon & Gearinger. Mike earned a BS degree in Biology from Miami (Ohio) University and a JD from University of Dayton School Of Law.
VP, Regulatory Affairs

Brian J. Seitz, Esq. is an entrepreneur with direct healthcare experience and several years of experience working with start-ups.

Prior to co-founding  Cryothermic Systems, Mr. Seitz was an attorney in Northeast Ohio for seven years where he focused on civil litigation representing individuals and corporations as plaintiffs or defendants in tort and business cases. Mr. Seitz has extensive experience in contract litigation and management of complex cases.
